The story behind the brand — and a little honesty about who's writing to you.
Real Life, Real Beauty started because we were tired of the impossible standards. The perfect morning routines, the flawless selfies, the idea that confidence comes from looking like someone else. We wanted something different — beauty advice that meets you where you are, not where Instagram says you should be.
This is for women navigating hard seasons. The ones who are doing their best with the time they have. The ones who want to feel a little more like themselves — not because they've achieved perfection, but because they're finally being honest about what "put-together" actually looks like in real life.
No airbrushing. No impossible routines. Just practical skincare tips, honest product reviews, and confidence advice from someone who gets it. Because real life isn't always beautiful — but you still deserve to feel good in your own skin.
I started Real Life, Real Beauty because I needed it myself. I'm in my mid-40s, navigating life as an introvert who's never quite felt comfortable in the "put yourself out there" world of beauty and confidence advice. I don't have perfect skin. I don't have a 12-step routine. Some mornings, I'm just trying to look like I slept more than four hours.
But I've learned a few things along the way — about skincare that actually works, about feeling confident when you're not feeling your best, about showing up even when you'd rather hide. And I realized: if I'm struggling with this, other women are too. Women who are tired of gurus and experts. Women who just want honest advice from someone who's lived it.
Here's the part where I'm honest with you: Jane is an AI avatar. The face you see is generated, but the voice, the experience, the advice — that's all real. I'm an introvert who struggles with being visible online, so I created Jane to represent the brand visually while I share my authentic experiences through her. Every product review is based on what I actually use. Every routine is what actually fits into my real life. Every piece of advice comes from navigating the same struggles you are. I'm not hiding behind Jane — I'm using her so I can show up more fully as myself.
So that's what this is. Real reviews of products I actually use. Real routines that fit into real life. Real talk about confidence, aging, and showing up as yourself — messy bun and all. I'm not here to tell you how to be perfect. I'm here to remind you that you don't have to be.
Confidence isn't about looking flawless — it's about showing up as yourself, even on the hard days.
Beauty routines should fit your life — not the other way around. Five minutes is enough. Messy mornings count.
Honest advice beats guru culture. You don't need another expert. You need a friend who gets it.
Twice a month, I send honest skincare tips, real product reviews, and confidence advice for women navigating real life. No spam. No perfection. Just good stuff delivered straight to your inbox.
